Rest in Peace, Ernie Banks

Ernie Banks, aka Mr. Cub, passed away yesterday at the age of 83.  The number of living Hall of Famers is now one member fewer.  Mr. Banks was an incredible player for many years, and represents the Chicago Cubs in the minds of many.  I never obtained his autograph during his life.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Jim Palmer

In what is becoming an annual tradition, I used a bit of Christmas gift money to add to my growing collection.  Jim Palmer was an incredible pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles for many years.  He continues to moonlight with the club as a broadcaster since his retirement from playing baseball.

The autograph is from a Nabisco All Star Legends series from the 90s, which featured several Hall of Famers.

Four More Added to Cooperstown's Shrine

Congrats to Pedro Martinez, Craig Biggio, Randy Johnson, and John Smoltz - this year's inductees into the Baseball Hall of fame.  Biggio is elected in his third year of eligibility, while the other three (all elite pitchers) were elected in their first time on the ballot.

MLB's full story can be found here.
